An elements panel?

    So....it's a pain to have to switch between elements every 3 seconds, especially for map-builders. So, I was wondering if it is possible to add a "quick" panel where you can drag/place element types you normally use there and, basically like a shortcut.

    Like the favourites menu in jaacob1's mod?

    Exactly what I was thinking.

    You can middle click on elements to select them, if that helps. Or, as @bowserinator said, use jacob1's mod.

     My computer is a potato, basically. I once ran 1 mod on TPT. After 5 minutes the program crashes. Not to mention, my middle click is very unstable, sometimes it doesn't work.

    mods aren't applied to TPT, they are an entirely separate program. Last time I checked (like 2 years ago ....) my mod was about 1fps faster than TPT in some circumstances anyway :P.

    Also, you can right click an element to select it that way, so that instead of erasing right click will draw that element. I find it annoying but it can be useful in some situations.

    Maybe I could update my favorites menu script ... I was messing with it a few days ago and made it at least not error and completely fail. It would need to be rewritten to use all the new lua features though, it's probably still compatible with version like 60 (it's terrible to use since it only uses the most basic functions)

    What about an on hand inventory like minecraft, but using the f-buttons or something?

    You could build a row of fake element icons at the bottom of the screen

    @Voyager15

    get a new mouse...

    Anyway, I've been having problems with the menu, too. About 1/2 the time I try to switch elements, it doesn't work, and sometimes I don't even notice.

    I think that's an SDL bug with windows 8, or something. I used to get it too. Forgot where I read that or if there is a fix now though.

    Does it usually just happen the first time you click? After playing for a while it should work normally. Also since i'm using windows 8 now and it doesn't happen, maybe they fixed it.
