Must Support Windows 98

It maybe a little extraordinary, but I had an idea that it may should support windows 98, although if it doesn't work properly from it. Maybe modify and then break into the retrospective programming match of codes to the old version of windows only. Yes people use windows 98 still, mostly to retro-gamers and the ones who enjoys nostalgia. If you don't find this approving, please comment below.

No. If the supporting libraries (SDL, LUA, etc) don't already work on windows 98, then it would be too much trouble. If they do work, then it already supports windows 98.

According to this: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp , less than .1% of people still use the Internet on Windows 98. By now i'm sure it's virtually 0, the stats were last on there in 2008 for it.

There are two spots in the source (I think) where something is defined so that we can use windows.h functions from Windows XP and later. One is in http (important), the other in loading window position (not as important but still good). I'm not even sure if removing those would allow it to work on Windows 98, if you really want Windows 98 support you are going to have to compile the game yourself.

if you're going to use W98 for retro gaming, wouldn't that be a computer just for that purpose and keep a modern computer for everything else?

I excuse what I've said, anyone makes mistakes by declaring something as an idea for something.

Off Topic: Well, isn't simplicit just to use any vintage OS emulated in any modern PC, that's when they've been making KBs to GBs of space just to do so by functioning an emulated OS, using floppy disks or not, or other additional drives just to install in a PC allowing to function the emulated OS.

On Topic: One thing I didn't knew is what MiningMash was right, it doesn't support windows 98 due of lua is only compatible at windows XP and higher versions.

    Porpoise

search for 'nostalgic porpoises' returned as this.

Ontopic: Other than nostalgic purposes, why do you still use windows 98? Isn't it possible at all to buy another computer with XP or better. They sell for at least $25.

my point is, TPT doesn't /need/ to support Win98 and even if someone has Win98 that should definantly not be the user's primary computer.(many newer programs wouldn't work, and if the computer was one with that version installed when it was "fresh" the CPU probably couldn't meet TPT's demands even if it was stripped down)
