I am missing the moving sponge!

Poor moving sponge... I got away for a while, and now it's gone. :(

Why not just fixing it's moving pattern, so the sponge can move smoothly from left to right and up to down?
    Ok, I know it's a bug.
But it was an AMAZING bug. - The only moving solid in TPT!
Not something breaking saves, making users unhappy or something like that.

    Unhappy Sponge Bob
A long time ago, it was exactly the curious stuff that caught my attention in this game.
Colored lasers... Phot to Neut conversion... Soap + Oil reaction... Soap Life... Soap/Bizr/Filt reaction...
...And the moving sponge, of course!

Now there are tons of people asking about it everywhere on the forum...
Asking about it on the saves...
    ...It's ugly!

Well... I am going back to my saves...
If someone else think the same as me, let-me know.

It was fixed years ago, due to a bug in GEL that caused it to move even without the console. It was actually kind of stupid, why not fix the GEL bug instead ... (it was fixed later). Back then I wanted it reverted too, but I'm not even sure if I was a mod at that point. By now I think it's far too late to change it, it's been fixed for years. If we made sponge move, everyone would spam it everywhere, it isn't even that interesting, and it itself is glitchy too. There are other alternatives like GRAV and PHOT, which can move in every direction. Also I don't want people to get the impression that moving solids are possible and could be added soon.

And nobody has asked for it to be added back in months, they all forgot about it :P. Searches will bring up the constant threads back then when they did.

Thanks buddies. I already known about GRAV or PHOT. - Being PHOT a very old thing.
They actually don't do what I was looking for. (An "arrow" smashing in an armed target, making useless it's weapons while creating a temporary fire hazard.)

Well... You certainly got the point Jacob.
A lot of people complaining months ago about a "missing feature", and were completely ignored by the developers and moderators.
"It's an ugly thing." -> That is just my opinion, since I were from a team behind another game from a very different kind where some bugs made it accidentally epic.
And we couldn't simply order a patch for fixing it. The guys even developed an underground culture in that game, based on the glitches exploitation.

(No idea if I can mention it in the forum, but I will send something about it for you on Inbox.)

Anyway, I am just asking the people's opinion on this matter because I am thinking seriously about making a MOD myself if I receive enough support and people interested on testing it.

I will implement the SPNG back in my MOD. Fix it, so the movement actually works in any direction.
Then I am going for more complex things like gears and fluid engines.
    - It's my time for doing something nice for this game I always loved.

    While it doesn't happen...

I will start by publishing a save that is actually a honour based strategy game I created the last months, with lots of overpowered guns, bizarre weapons and things for people to blown up.

    Enjoy the mess, people!!!! XD

It might cause other bugs. What i'm saying, TPT don't need to waste time fixing these bugs that where cool.

But I do miss the sponge bug it was exciting.

you could just use my mod if you like it that much. It still has it.

Or, type this into the console: tpt.el.spng.loss = 1

Also, if done right you can now use piston ships to get a similar functionality.

Piston ships are also one of the best things I have seen on Powder Toy.
The whole piston things being more accurate... Side by side with CRAY.

    Anyway, thanks a lot Jacob.
That spare me from having to use an old version of PT for that effect, will do the trick for a Final Fantasy save I am creating and another one that is a mission for the game. ;)

P.S.: If someone is curious, take a look at the game I am mentioning. It's still in development phase but you can appreciate the arsenal and some of the mechanics.:
