New elements: MGNT and EMGT

I think we should have a Magnet element that always draws broken metal/broken electronics towards it. There should also be an EMGT element- Electromagnet, which only draws metals towards it when activated with PSCN, turned off with NSCN, and POLARIZATION REVERSED WITH METL. Thoughts?

This is an on-topic question, and I have no idea if anyone's answered it already, but:

    Why aren't magnets in official?

It's an honest question, I'm just wondering as it seems a really good idea.

The reason magnets have not been implemented yet is because of the amount of CPU usage and processing needed. Every particle would need to be checked if they are or are not a metal type. Then they would need to calculate the attraction to the magnet within proximity of the location.

Plus, why would you want JUST bits of metal to be pulled towards it?

Well regarding JUST the metal being pulled towards it, perhaps a CTYPE entry could be used to define what you want to be effected by it.

(Just an idea, I realize the improbability of magnets being added.)

They could mod gpmp to do that, great idea!

It would cause major lag too.

Did you know that a big amount of CPU usage causes lag?
