there isn't actually a scripts folder, only one file will be run on startup, and that is autorun.lua. It doesn't just execute everything in some folder.

I recommend you download this though: https://powdertoy.co.uk/Discussions/Thread/View.html?Thread=14596 , and save it as autorun.lua . this is crackers script manager, very good, it will let you select which scripts you want on. Once you have it, save any new scripts in the scripts/ folder.
