It would be really cool if tpt was ported to a windows 8 app. Or having a Touch friendly version of tpt.

I found this article that explains everything about porting to Windows Store Apps: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/win8devsupport/archive/2012/12/20/porting-desktop-apps-to-windows-store-apps.aspx

    It would attract more users

TPT doesn't use any ui library, it doesn't use any components except a window provided by SDL. all the ui inside it is drawn manually and managed by TPT

It would be the same as tpt except all menu's are hidden. To get to the elements menu, you have to swipe in from the bottom and to access tabs (like tabs in a internet browser, allows you to create many simulations at once just like in @jacob1's mod) and other menus you have to swipe in from the bottom.

well all metro apps have menu's hidden. It would be nice to have it as a windows 8 app, it would be more convenient for windows 8 tablets

Also i made edits to my last post.

I said I was interested in a touchscreen version for android and/or windows 8 tablets, but not to actually make a metro app. Doing that wouldn't work, we would need to rewrite a ton, and the example code in that link was just bad ... we don't need a ton of that. Also I don't know how we would get it in, it's hard.

Also tpt does everything itself, and it draws the screen to a buffer which does the SDL blit, so nothing could be easily changed to this.

No, Windows 8 is a stupid operating system and all those HUGE morbidly obese icons that waste screen space and flicker at you and those aweful hidden menues make it aweful to use. *has wall erase selected, goes to swipe open bottom menu* *barely misses and ends up erasing the bottom wall making everything fall of the screen.* "Oh no, not again!"
