now, i am mostly wondering why "life" (as in creatures) has always been disconsidered.
I have noticed that there are other life forms out there that pt has never even considered.
there's the generic stkm, which is apparently hard as boody to code,
the "user" element from oe cake (no rotation)
and if anyone has android, the might want to check out the sandbox, which has cool "beings"
what would be some of the issues with making these (especially the humans from the sandbox) and what could be some workarounds?
just curious.
This isn't a life game like The sandbox... and you got to pay for elements on there here atleast its free but the developers work, off there ceysters and get paid for it.
If they made life too realistic, it may become sentient and decide that all humans must be killed. It would slowly take over all the other computers, without us noticing, then take out the economy. With no control over anything, it would make evil robots to kill us. The creators and developpers of The Powder Toy do not want to be responsible for the distruction of the world, and the downfall of mankind. I hope this answers your question :)
Nice one!
Yes, although these developpers are far more intelligent then the average person, they would indeed have difficulties creating such a code nessary for simulating sentient beings.
The humans in the sandbox are practically moving solids. We haven't coded them yet so it would be a long shot to try to code sentinent beings first. The sandbox also has sound and a campaign too, but like Nuclear fox sait they get paid for it so it's not surprising.
That said I like this idea :)
Well, if Simon added a developer that coded moving solids like they where, nothing TPT would have moving solids by now. Yes but TPT codes in C++ now instead of C anymore.
