What is the "Reputation" thing for?

    So far I have 2 but I really don't know what it is for and how to get it.

    You get it by posting useful things :)
    It apparently shows how good an user is but there's absolutely no visual indicator for users with a lot of reputation so it's pretty much just a "comment score", nothing more.
