I've seen lots of extremely detailed saves such as cities and such, it's inspired me and I want to know how to do this myself.

    Please help.

press z to zoom, and when decorating, shade frequently and zoom out to see your work often. it also helps to have diagrams or pictures to visualize what you are making.

Make something that's -not- normally made, like a computer or a complicated reactor with lots of buttons to switch (along with nice deco, of course)

You should get some experience as knowledge before you try to make a reactor or city.  Also, there is no defined way to make something that's good. No one can tell you how to make something that will be amazing. You have to tell yourself how to make it. Others can only tell you maybes.

Look around saves for users' guides, or you could try and take apart a popular electronic save and see what each part does.
