What is the "Old" powder toy?

    Hello.

     

     

    I have been using TPT for about 6 months, and I have always heard disscussions that involved "The old TPT was better." 

     

    So what is the old TPT? How was it better than today?

    Old powder toy = version <84.3 or whatever the current release is.<br/>
    There is nothing better about older versions. That's why there are updates, to make it better. This probably excludes when powder toy was ported to C++, in which case it was alot more buggy, and so people would prefer the old version more.

    I think you misunderstood my question. What I meant to ask was that the "old" TPT had better people. Better saves. Better creations. For example, that computer that could be programmed with assembly language.

    It's on the new save server too.. it totally exists. Finding it is tough tho...
    The "old TPT" could mean a few things, maybe the version before Simon and the crew started updating it again, or maybe just any version before TPT++. Anything after the "old old" version still has the saves all in one place, if corruptions haven't taken them then it's perfectly okay and preserved. TPT++ doesn't use a new server and it does support older saves.

    Okay I must have seriously not put any tone in my writing.

     

     

    I mean the old TPT as in people were more happy. Not because of the code of TPT, but because of the spirit of TPT. This is as good as I can explain.

    Don't know what you mean by that. There hasn't been anything removed from The Powder Toy, (Except Python I believe) But the spirit of TPT never changes. Its the same game, but the team has made improvements and bug fixes and more elements.

    well there you go, Old tpt is when people were more happy. Probably because it was less busy and less full of annoying users.

    Ah, the old community. They're still here but a lot more saturated with users 2-3 months in and already pasting "TPT VETERAN" into saves.

    The old community was much better than the current one, saves were generally better quality, people were nicer, there were less stealers and the FP wasn't corrupt.

    You can't ask what happened because it's generally a cycle of community life. Things have to change in order to attract more users and provide the wants and needs of people. Over time people become more aware of issues and thus it saturates their spirit and efforts in the community.

     

    I guarantee you will find this everywhere and every community.
