Groups Suggestion

Scrolling through the groups page, I realized you can only scroll through and there is no search bar.  Is there one and if not, maybe add one?  Because I tried to search them through the "Search Site" bar and they do not come up.  Just a suggestion.

The group feature is pretty much abandoned, but just maybe you can get some people on the line for that.

I was actually just looking around for a certain group and it got boring because you have to go through each individual group.  I only joined one group and will only ever join one.  Just for other people's convenience.

I'm not sure, but I think the group feature is why the group feature was abandoned. It's 10000% easier to find a group if it had it's own forum, and they could advertise and get new users that way. You can't see what a group is like until you join it, which is a major problem. Having both the feature and the forum section might be best. This would help too, but by then, you might not even need a search.

Of course, I was never around actively when groups were (at least I don't remember much about them)

No, just have a thread that says what the group is about and how you get in it. Because you can't see what it's about unless you join.  Its not going to be a different thread per informatio, just one.  MAybe in general or even in a new tab.

Why not make a seperate discussion section just for groups?.. Although by the looks of it, it may not be widely used.

The original system utilized threads. Except they were filled up and spam started to appear. Now we're having an issue with too many groups and most of which are abandoned. I would be in favor of having it re-worked, but currently Simon is the only person with access to site changes and he's tied up in many projects.
