Option: Disable Saving & Stamps

I typed this 3 times and I'm mad that my phone deleted it so here it is - shortened and simplified:
An option that allows original publishers to prevent others from copying their work.
What appears if Saving is attempted:
"This option is disable for this Save!"
    OR
"Option Disabled - Better Suck Than Steal!" - Credit goes to the original quoter.

This will indefinitly prevent others from illegally copying your work. They can always Recreate it, but at least they won't be stealing you shine!

    So what do you say?
    Please Comment & Discuss!
With enough Positive Attention for Mods and Admins, it could make it into the Official Powder Toy!
    "Thanks for Reading!"

    This is a stupid idea.

It simply wouldn't work. It would not stop people from being able to steal your save if they so desired.
Furthermore many "stolen" works aren't stolen in the first place and are actually derivatives of the original.

Lastly, I could perhaps understand being annoyed about someone stealing your work and receiving more votes than yourself (even though votes themselves are meaningless) however most stolen saves get down-voted to oblivion upon discovery anyway. So then, why exactly do you care?

No. If you publish your work, you're acknowledging that other people can copy it.

Moderators can take off stolen saves if the people who originally posted them report it, but otherwise this is something we can't aptly fix short of destructively. XD

Why would you want to do this? Apart from the fact that there are -votes, reports and moderators to already deal with the matter, it would also make tpt very suppressed and too restrained. I would hate it, I admit taking bits of saves in my past, but that's only because I needed it and it was cool. Besides if people do it to you, doesn't it make you feel that you have atleast got atention so, that people actually want to steal your work? I find it thrilling.

As I've said before, they're just an array of different coloured pixels. There's no use in getting your anger up over those pixels. You publish, they copy. Everything's a remix.
Plus, there's enough community powered moderation for the most direct copies to vanish easily into the latter pages of the new queue.

I thought that publishing you work on TPT meant showing TPT World you creations, and allowing them to use it, NOT COPY IT. Thats why they can do it themselves, using their own time. I have nothing agaist sharing but itws just a suggestion.

Calm your tits. Seriously, if you can't handle someone telling you your idea is horrible and flawed you need to grow up and rethink your position on accepting criticism.

Now then a truly stupid reply would end here however I'm going to instead concentrate at the task at hand. Which as you're probably aware, I'll reiterate for you as you may have been blinded due to intense buttrage, is to discuss the viability of disabling saves in powder toy.

Essentially what you're asking to be implemented is a kind of "copyright" system, where the creator is the only person who is able to create new copies (Copies in this case refers to published saves) of the creation.
Ignoring that the original intent of copyright wasn't to stop people from stealing your idea rather to make sure you could recover the initial investment costs in developing whatever-it-is in the first place.

To me, it seems illogical to want to protect your idea past having an opportunity to be able to recover the costs in developing that idea. Since people are not paying to view or use your work, could you please enlighten me. What's your motivation behind wanting to restrict the use of your saves? Using a system like this would also stop people from being able to remix your own work. Why don't you want to allow this?

We already have a system in place to deal with people creating exact copies of your saves, it's not perfect but it's far better than the alternative.

I'll agree as soon as you fill out all the legal paperwork required to patent a fictional device created in a video game.
    So basically, I disagree.
