The threads complaining about the small exodus of older users are rather unnecessary, but the threads announcing people leaving could not have been avoided. It's a new year, people have thought about what they want to do with their lives and thus it is not expected that they are posting simultaneously, sometimes, such threads act as a catalyst causing other users thinking about leaving as well.

I totally agree. It'a not nice to loose members, but it just can't be avoided. Also, it's better when they tell they leve.
