ARAY is already awesome, and has been used in many saves, but it has one severe limitation.
The BRAY it shoots out is always at 22C. The ARAY can be at 9000C (sparked with SWCH) and all it does
is just cools down the ARAY. My idea is to make it so ARAY does not conduct heat and make it so that all the BRAY particles it shoots out have the same temperature as the ARAY particle. That would make it possible to have tiny ARAY guns that can melt stuff other than NICE. I don't think it'll break any saves. ARAY doesn't do anything when heated up already anyways other than conduct heat.
@meep2000(View Post) Might break saves, but I doubt it. I've tried making an ARAY gun, but the heat that was enough to melt metal only got 10 pixels along before it disappeared.
I would implement it myself but I have issues with compiling and running TPT source code. It just needs one person to add a line in ARAY.c (something like r.temp=i.temp;) and change the conductivity number thingy. Can someone do this or is this just a dumb idea?
This has been suggested about six or seven times now, each time receiving positive feedback, though it has never been added. Maybe you'll get lucky this time.
