theres some people swearing at the lobby is there any way to report?

For tptmp issues, you should PM a mod (like me or LBPHacker). You can also use /smsg in-game to send a message to the admins.

    Version 57.2 Released!

    Version 57.2 2024-10-05
    • Fix some graphical glitches in tags UI
    • Change DMG to match vanilla movement, fixes id:3135550
    • Update to Script Manager v3.15 with scrolling fixes

I had this update ready a few weeks ago when the script manager update was out, but my build server wasn't working because a Starcatcher CPU upgrade reset all the BIOS settings. Eventually we got around to fixing it.

    Download Version 57.2 for Windows
    Download Version 57.2 for macOS
Download Version 57.2 for 64 bit linux.
Download Version 57.2 for 32 bit linux.

I have an element idea i was really wanting, Cell! You can look on my page for more info. But basically, cell is a constantly growing and reproducing organism!

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately for you though, I'm not adding new element ideas to the mod. I maintain the mod for historical reasons, but otherwise I focus new development time on the official version.

The 64 bit Linux version does not open. KDE's Dolphin file manager said there's a syntax error in the .desktop file. I tried again after fixing the error but then the game just didn't want to open. It tries to open for about 5 seconds and then closes itself. Could you do anything about that?

    Version 58.0 Released!

    Version 58.0 2024-12-20
    • Updates from tpt++ 99.0, including new changes to the online save browser and various other sim fixes
    • Separate Rendering Thread is not included
    • Update to tptmp v2.1.2

Standard update to bring the mod up to date with 99.0. So you'll get the time period dropdown in the save browser, documentation on the new search, and other various fixes. The main draw of 99.0, the Separate Rendering Thread, isn't included. There would be huge technical hurdles to bring it over and it's just not worth the time.

I also have some news about plans for this mod's future. Next year, I'd like to wind it down and stop releasing updates, so I can focus entirely on vanilla TPT. I'll write the full plans in another post later. There will still be another update later to change the version numbers to 99.0.

    Download Version 58.0 for macOS
Download Version 58.0 for 64 bit linux.

    Version 58.1 Released!

    Version 58.1 2024-12-30
    • Change internal version number to 99.0

    Download Version 58.1 for macOS
Download Version 58.1 for 64 bit linux.

Also, important update I promised about the future of the mod:

As of 2025, this mod is in a transitional period where future updates and feature parity aren't guaranteed. It's been really fun developing the mod for over a decade, but, it takes up too much of my limited time.

Due to the way the codebase is, I can't merge in changes from vanilla, I have to copy every code change manually. This mod is basically a continuation of the legacy C version of TPT, from way back in 2012. If you look at the code, so much of it truly is from that era ... it's a mess, and completely unlike what tpt++ is today. LBPHacker has been putting in a lot of effort into the vanilla codebase, so I feel confident in the code now, unlike how I felt in 2012.

So yeah, I'd like to stop working on this mod and focus on vanilla. But, this mod is still my active daily driver, so I don't want to just immediately drop it. Instead, it will be a process where less vanilla features are ported to the mod, and certain mod features are ported to vanilla.

    Future mod updates:
Previously, I ported every new feature that I could. Some minor features were definitely more work than they are worth. Some big features like Separate Rendering Thread I couldn't at all. The priority in the future will ONLY be simulation updates. So new elements / simulation features will be added, to keep compat with all online saves. I may add other things if they are trivial. I'm going to strongly de-emphasize Lua changes. Those tend to be some of the most intensive changes to port. Some scripts may stop being compatible in the future, and I'll remove tptmp if I need to (but it's still compatible for now).

    Mod features ported to vanilla:
I'm going to look into porting things into vanilla. If there's any mod features you like, be sure to leave a comment about it! But for now, I'm eyeing certain UI changes (particularly to the console and the save browser), HUD changes, and simulation refactors. The UI changes may conflict with upcoming TPT 100.0 stuff, but I'll make sure the important changes get in there somehow. I'm not sure about the mod elements, but some could be interesting.

I just read your statement about the future of the mod so I just registered to the forum to say THANK YOU for it.
TPT is a gem and I think your mod makes it more usable so I use it even more than vanilla version.
Since I haven't been here till now I don't feel I have the right to request for anything but since it's you yourself that asked about it I'll say the features I'd love to see in vanilla from your MORE options in FAVORITES are:
.- Alternate FIND mode (FND2 used with ctrl+f) because it's perfect for showing gases regardless of display mode, in vanilla I have to change display mode every time to show gas particles.
.- Heat Display Mode where you can change temperature ranges because the default full range is so broad I don't find it generally useful. I use your version a lot for this.

Anyway, I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH Jacob1 for the passion, love and time you've put into this project of TPT in general and for your mod in particular.

Best regards and happy new year!
