UARS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upper_Atmosphere_Research_Satellite is set to fall from the sky in a month or two.

A dead NASA satellite will plummet to Earth will on Friday (Sept. 23), and while the U.S. space agency doesn't know exactly where pieces of the massive spacecraft will hit, one thing is certain: North America is in the clear.

NASA's Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite, or UARS, is set to make an uncontrolled re-entry into Earth's atmosphere on Friday. However, it is still too early to tell exactly where the 6.5-ton spacecraft will fall. Scientists will likely have a much better idea of where the debris will land about two hours before the impact, NASA officials said.

But, NASA was able to rule out North America as being in the potential debris drop zone.

It's on a 57°-inclined orbit so it could potentially land pretty-much anywhere on the Earth. TFA says that it's 'narrowed' it down to anywhere between 57°S and 57°N...

Should be a fireball as impressive as the ATV when it does, so look up (unless it's falling towards you, in which case RUN FOR THE HILLS!)

So you guys have a guess on where it will hit?

If it hits the UK, I'll laugh. If it hits near where I live, I'll laugh, then go scavenge for pieces and sell them.

    Wikipedia:

Some debris may survive to reach the surface. Of the 26 pieces expected to survive reentry and strike the surface, the estimated mass of the largest piece is 158.3 kg (349 lb), possibly reaching the surface at a velocity of 44 metres per second (140 ft/s) (98 miles/hour). Smaller pieces are expected to strike the surface at up to 107 m/s (350 ft/s).

If it hits my house, NASA gets sued, BIG TIME.
