Element Idea

YES, I DID READ THE REJECTED ELEMENT LIST. But we do need an element that adds or subtracts a specific temperature from a particle. For example, if an element comes into contact with 100° C tmp=0 HETR (Heater) then that particle would be increased in temperature by 100° C. But if the same particle touched 100° C tmp=1 HETR, it's temperature would be decreased by 100° C.

I actually have always liked this idea, I'm not sure why it's not implemented yet. It will probably be in my mod's next release, since it's so easy to code, and hopefully it will be in the official eventually.

But if it kept touching it it would coutinusly cool/heat up, so in my mod I had an element that gradually changes the temp of the element to it's own temp

Okay, I just added this to my mod in the most recent update.

Maybe make it a ray? TRAY (Temperature Ray)

Using ARAY with PSCN effectively accomplishes the goal of temperature ray, though..

Not really... For example, if you have a 5000° particle and a 3000° particle, how would you make an aray to subtract exactly 100° from both so that you have a 4900° particle and a 2900° particle?

Also that would vary based on the other element's HEATCONDUCT, so it couldn't be used to, say, modify PUMP.

This is great and is not THAT hard. The devs of TPT must stop ignoring heater and magnet ideas

It's not about whether or not the element is hard to build - it's about whether it'll be fun to play with and experiment, as well as adding a bunch of entirely new things to do in TPT. Sure, recent elements aren't exactly fitting for the description but all of them improve the game with a really unique asset.
