here are my two cents of opinion:
For computers, it could work better with more space, but on the other hand, how much more do you want?

for bombs, I can see what you mean, like seeing if the destructive force of a bomb is still in effect after a longer distance, same goes for lasers.... even though those might noth be as affected.

and for artworks.... it would definitely make for higher resolution, but why not draw it on paint/photoshop in the first place?

 Here's my opinion: I would certainly want to have a larger frame, but since most average desktop computers will already lag on the current size, the risks would FAR outweigh the benefits. Also if this does happen, cue trolls making ridiculously huge saves with those GOO/C4 curves to crash your game.
