Draw the things you want to compress then select the prop tool. Choose x or y then pick a number and click on what you want to compress.

Because when you move FIGH, STKM, and STK2 their feet don't move with them.

You can layer 2 elements in this method:

    1)Draw some PHOT.
2)Draw the first element to compress over the PHOT (The element will not show, but it will be there under the PHOT.)
    3)Then type in the console:
    !set type phot xxxx
Replace xxxx with the second element to compress.

This avoids setting x and y coordinates, but to do this without using the console or PROP tool in any way is not possible.

Compressing elements can lead to interesting things, but don't expect it to always work, especially in saves. I would say PROP is the easiest way to do it now, but it depends.

get one of the layering helper scripts or subframe chipmaker script

what I did before using a script, was placing all particles you want to have layered in a horizontal line, in order you want them be layered, then set the prop tool to property 'x' and set it to the x value of the leftmost particle you want to layer (if you don't see x, then press D). Then just click on every particle you want to layer from right to left. You could do the same thing without using prop tool by installing the Subframe Chipmaker Script. You would also see every layered particle with it. The instructions on how to use it are in the description. Hope that helps!
