Okay here's a TL;DR for all you attention deficit people.

    Forum posting
    1. Use grammar. No bad words.
    2. No spam.
    3. Make thread titles good.
    4. No impersonation.
    5. No huge images.
    6. No "+1" posts (these used to be a thing)
    7. No asking for locks unless OP.
    8. Don't discuss bans. Don't discuss stuff mods do.
    9. Don't ask "how to become moderator"
    10. Don't advertise for Minecraft on a Powder Toy forum.
    11. Stop flaming Powder Game.
    12. No discussing piracy.
    13. No backseat moderating.

    Save uploading.
    1. No image plotting.
    2. No self voting.
    3. No hate saves.
    4. No dicks.
    5. No begging for votes.
    6. Keep logos and signs to a minimal.
    7. No excessive swearing.
    8. No text-only saves.
    9. No stealing.
    10. No lag makers.

    Reporting.
    1. Don't false report. You'll get banned.
    2. Details, details, details!
    3. Don't ask for saves to be taken off FP.

As you can see, each of those is very vague and leaves many loopholes, that's why the rules are long and precise.
All of those rules can be condensed down to one:
    ・。。・゜☆ Don't be a dick. ☆゜・。。・

That's the message I was trying too get across. The point is that most of the rules are too long too detailed and like  you said most of it is just common sense.

I myself have read the rules at least 4 - 5  times, whenever they get updated. But the last time I read them I found myself re-reading parts that were only vaguely different in several places on the page.

And I'm not lying when I say that the rules still take up nearly 2 pages in size 4 font on Microsoft word.

You can't ban people on lacking common sense. That's why stuff like laws are very clearly worded to not allow for vagueness and loopholes.

Plus, in the past there were enough complaints on how vague the rules were still, so that is why they are very precise right now.
One could always turn them into legal text but does that have a point...?

It's like the constituition of TPT. Everything is clearly explained, whether common sense or not. Those who want to read it will, and those who don't won't.

I'll let the matter drop. This comic describes what I thought however. \/\/

Most are common sense, but we need them to be specific. We often ban for the specific things listed in certain rules. If we shorten them, someone could complain that's not in the rules, and we usually always ban for what's in there, nothing else. Some things like asking for votes and image plotting, etc. Aren't obvious or common sense.
