Actually, there is a huge difference, for example, in no way is a markup language turing complete. Markup languages and programming languages share almost nothing in common.
Anyone doing markup in a programming language should be shot, and anyone doing programming in a markup language should be shot. :)
I do Python, cuz of Modeling in Blender to make easy scripts. Took me a 6 months to learn good . Not programming complicated programs, just models for games, that i test in source SDK. I didnt released one though in workshop cuz the file size is too big and low poly looks bad (i mean ugly and shitty).
