What in the world is happening?

Are we in a slow point? It seems like the last 6 months have been... Slow...

I agree, nothing really exciting in the updates, not a great quality of saves, its been so dull :(

Its strange. I was expecting things to accelerate, however, as updates slowed, traffic slowed, less mods due to less traffic and nopw no mods, no contributers to the source so fewer updates which seems to lead to lead to slower traffic.

Simon was porting it to c++ for most of last summer, and updates almost stopped because all work was on that. Then it got released (although there were bugs). We went into bug-fixing mode and fixed a bunch of stuff. Then ... Simon disappeared. And I don't mean he is gone, he just only pops up randomly and doesn't really respond on irc, and never on the forums or in the game. First the reason was that he was moving, then it was a job/school I think, now I don't know. Maybe still job/school, I don't really ask him about that, he wouldn't respond anyway. (he tends to go in and out actually, he has been here and responded this whole week a bit)

So ... it's been a few months like this, not many changes, and any changes have to be fixing the massive amount of bugs that tpt++ used to have. It's mostly fine now, but it took a lot of work to get tpt++ working, and people can tell by the lack of new things. Without Simon doing much, it got really slow. This entire past update is basically all mine, no one else really contributed. It might continue, unless we get someone new to start working on the game. Which I don't really expect to happen suddenly.

The lack of good saves may be partly because almost everything has been done. We aren't adding new elements or new reactions or new simulation options ... the most important part of the game ... so not much new stuff seems as good. Being an old user contributes to this more, saves are probably at least better than you think, you've just seen similar before and are getting tired of an older game to you. (Also, less people play the game than they used to, not sure exactly how many less)

So, I know about these problems, and I also know there is nothing I can do about it without more help or changes to the website / game. I would say it's spending time fixing tpt++ bugs, no new features or elements, and the lack of Simon being here to do website fixes and actually game updates causing problems. I just wish I could do something about it, but I don't have enough time to update the game a ton all by myself.

Yeah, it has been very slow. I can't think of any good things too do anymore really. Everything done. But then again, In 1901 Charles Holland Duell said: "Everything that can be invented has been invented." Logic = None
