Yeah. I was getting trolled and being told that I should gtfo since no-one likes noobs and all that stuff for whole first months I was on IRC. Once you have been there long enough, you'll possibly be somehow accepted, and it starts getting more and more fun. Also, #powder is possibly not a channel for everyone. An apple fan who knows nothing about computers, programming, etc. and is not interested in learning, is more likely going to be trolled, and may never start having fun there.

yeah. I just saw Merbo and Niggle scare a new user away (in the logs, I wasn't on). I'm always nice to new people and try not to let them get scared away, but if you join at the wrong time, it won't be fun. And if you are 12, never mention that ever, and if you act like you're 12, don't even go on, people will hate you possible resulting in a ban depending on how you are acting. Even if you aren't 12, this might happen:
