     What's wrong with E-Wall?

    Anyway, what are the uses?

Just wasting element slots. I don't see the point. If you don't like e-wall use STOR instead.

STOR works poorly, to use it properly one needs to funnel everything through a single-pixel filter.

Think about it. E-wall can't be decorated or destroyed. It's always stuck as a square and your limited in what size you can make it. There are lots of things wrong with E-wall :/

what about changing the current PRTI/PRTO like pump. it would simply start activated, deactivated by NSCN, activated by PSCN. no new element slots would be wasted and i think cyberdragon's idea could have some uses

many people have PSCN and NSCN connected to protal in and out to use as wifi... doing that would break all of those saves as NSCN would turn the portal off

I did that in my mod for pipe, but when making a pull request Simon wanted a separate element, so I made powered pipe. No one has accepted it yet though. I also made it pass into portals, which would basically make powered portals. (which I also have in my mod)
