    Well, i downloaded powder, came with a .exe named "Powder-Legacy" that is just like normal Powder. What is this?

    I don't totally understand the mechanism of it, but basically if you're running an older CPU, some of the optimizations meant for newer processors may not have an effect, or may even slow the game down subtly.

    Try running both executables to see which runs the fastest. There shouldn't be an obvious difference but if there is, use that executable by default.

    Powder-Legacy is a build of TPT that has no SSE optimization. I believe Powder is SSE2 optimization which is generally supported in computers made after 2003. It's just a very slight speed increase, maybe 1fps.

    @Catelite

    If the computer doesn't support it, it won't run.

     I get about 2 FPS of difference.

    Powder-legacy does not support SSE2. SSE2 gives programmers the ability to use non floating point registers which are faster in mass computation. I think SSE2 is basically MMX (A widely publisized optimization on pentium processors in the 1990's), but on modern processors.
