Honestly I have never heard of basic.
But I know that if powder toy is not basic compatible then chances are. No. You may not.
But then again I am the last person to be asking.

No it is not possible, C is really different from BASIC, they are not compatibles. Your best bet is to learn Lua ( Really easy ) and mod elements that way. You could also try to learn C, but that's a big adventure full of dangers. -

Yes, you would have to make it from scratch, which is a really bad idea in my opinion because BASIC wasn't made to make games or any kind of performant softwares, but mainly to learn the basics of programming.
C++ is alot like C in a way, but at the same time very different... -

basic is like 1980's XD my mum used it when she was in year 7, 30 or so years ago.
learn C or lua if you learn C it would be a good bet to learn C++ as well (TPT is moving to C++)
