Why does everyone hate on protons?

    Lockheedmartin:

What uses does it have? Except making elements.

That's a use, and a nice one at that! Besides, it would make the masses happy...

Perhaps it could have properties it's not supposed to have, like NEUT does.

Then it's rejected. I said EXCEPT for a reason.

One bad use does not justify adding them.
Where would creating elements be used in saves? People just use CLNE or CONV. ¬_¬
Also, did you even read my first post? We have limited amount of elements. We don't want to go using up all the space we have for elements with elements that have ONE bad use.

A proton could automatically cycle an element to its next number up by increasing its "atomic number" (which in real life is the number of protons in an alement). In this case that would mean when a proton strikes a particle, that particle gets bumped to the the next higher element id number, thus changing which element occupies that pixel. When it already is at the highest element id, it would destroy the particle on the next impact with a proton (leaving an empty pixel). Only elements that would be skipped in this process would be TPT would be ones that would not make sense to do so with. These would be
all clone elements and the converter elements (which by their nature are meant to duplicate or alter particles so would not make sense to themselves be alterable)
    and diamond (it's invincible)
any element which has a special reaction with protons (like ELEC)

This would be a VERY UNIQUE FEATURE unlike ANYTHING currently available. This would give an excuse to put a proton element in, and then it could have other features like reacting with electrons to make HYGN (get rid of the NEUT+ELEC=HYGN cause that's not realistic and now we have an excuse other than this one reaction to actually add protons, and remember that NEUT+ELEC=HYGN is a beta feature so changing it while still in beta won't risk "breaking saves").
