After released the particle it held, the ctype of STOR won't change
Thus, if there is one pixel of STOR, there's no way to know if the particle it held is released or not, you know that only after spark it via PSCN

Click the STOR with the element you want it to store.

He means he did that, and then released the particle, but then, the stor ctype remained the same, so if the particle, say, fell off the screen, and you weren't looking, you wouldn't know it was released.

then you just type in !set ctype stor "(element you want)" and you will have it stored

EDIT: looks like a bug store is not functioning ;p

The Ctype does not store the current element, the Ctype stores the accepted element (STOR of ctype WATR will only hold WATR). I can understand that it's very difficult to tell if STOR is holding a particle, this will be changed for the next version.

Oh, I got that. It is a reasonable design. All we need is some signal to show off the status.
How about the STOR becoming brighter or luminous when hold something
