Or you could do what I suggested, which would allow you to use your install disk and reinstall.

even newer update: Those things didn't work so went to a computer shop and they said try testing the ram by putting each piece to each slot to check for broken hardware. I went back and told him, he said try using the cmos jumper, that didn't work so I tried updating the bios and nothing bad happened so just to clarify now when the red, blue, green and yellow balls of light are coming together they stutter a bit then about a second into the animation I get a blue screen of death.Where it says something like ''unmountable boot volume'' there was nothing. He said it is £70 just to have a look, that's way too much and anyway I don't have a car so cant even take it up but I wasn't speaking to the boss and the guy I was speaking to said if he could he would do it for free or little so I might be able to sway the boss.

Format the harddrive after making it a slave on your mom's computer. THEN try reinstalling.

I formated it using the instalation disk because there is an option that has a picture of a rubber and that formats it so do I need to plug it in then use a program on my mums windows to format it?

Oh, I guess the install cd does do that. Is the bsod on boot up? Or is it after a while.
