Not related to tpt but I built a computer 3 weeks ago running fine but 2 nights ago I was gaming and it just froze.Nothing would respond (keyboard, mouse or Ctrl +alt+ delete) so I switched it off then when I tried to turn it back on i got stuck at starting windows I tried to restart again, same thing. So the night it happened I could go into safe mode and was trying to research it but I had to go to bed for school.Last night I tried going back into safe mode, I got a blue screen of death saying unmountable boot volume. So i went on another computer and found a website that suggested using the windows 7 installation disk and try to repair the disk so I inserted the disk, selected the DVD drive from the boot menu and pressed any key then it just wouldn't advance from starting windows or the bit with the green bar a while later the screen was black and had to turn it off.At one point I heard a constant beep and read up it could be thermal related or ram related.I really don't know what to do cause the installation disk should work but doesn't.I might be able to take the hard drive out and put it in this computer to get the data off it.If safe mode worked the night before and didn't the next night something is degrading. I might try the ram slots someone suggested that cause I've got professorial gaming canned air. Any thoughts?
@MasterMind555(View Post) I installed 3d vision and forgot to mention when I got into safe mode i used malware bytes and found 3 trojen.agent's then done a scan with avira and found another 9 or 10 serious threats.I think Im screwed. The fact I cant re install windows even if I lose all my date but hardrives are were the viruses are so the disk shouldn't be affected that's whats worrying me.
@disturbed666(View Post) I cant format it cause I cant use installation disk.I could put it in this computer, get the data off then format it but the installation disk should be working so there is a problem with it and it just froze so at that time somthing happened to make it freeze and that same thing is stooping me from passing starting windows.
@disturbed666(View Post) but I don't think its to do with the hardisk because the installation disk wont work and that's nothing to do with the hard disk.
@abaabaabaaba4(View Post) Get a liveCD of gparted, back up important data, then erase your HDD. If you want a better GUI for doing this with, get an ubuntu live-cd,get internet, hit ctrl+alt+t, type: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gparted then go to system: administartion: gparted then wipe your HDD after backing up data.
@disturbed666(View Post) when I try to use the start up disk a press the any key then it goes to the bit with the green bar and after awhile its a black screen.I thought the disk isn't to do the the hard drive because if you take out the hard drive the disk normally would run so I don't see how its connected anyway I put the hard drive into another computer and I have backed up mostly everything.I can do all the formatting and stuff from this computer but it seems a waste if its not the hard drive.I'm going to see if I can boot from the hard drive in this computer so ill edit in 5 minutes.
update: Manged to back up all important data then re installed windows 7 and it worked... on this computer. So I put it back in my computer and now when the widow 7 logo starts and the 4 balls of light haven't even come together and I get a blue screen flash on screen and then the computer restarts. I've also reset the bios and that doesn't help.It must be something physical later I'll try spraying some compressed air in ram slots, removing graphics card and removing pci cards.
