@cctvdude99 Its not TOTALY pointless, think about all the people who don't even know IRC exists. You could have it as a chatroom button, and more people would find out that it existed.
@RedFlash You can't use webchat (its banned fron #powder, remember?) And lots of people have no idea what a client even is. And irc clients use no processing power whatsoever ( you can use netcat as one, thats how basic it is)
I think TPT should stay as TPT. I don't think adding an IRC client is necessary. There are enough calculations that the processor has to worry about with all the elements. Downloading an IRC client is a cinch(I recommend IceChat), and if people don't know what IRC is, then why confuse them even further?
My main concern is if a client was added to the official build itself, then there would no doubt be a huge influx of "How do I use this?"-type questions. There is a such thing as too broad of a scope for an application.
@alecnotalex(View Post) I know, it would be horrible. I get nervous everytime I see a name I don't recognize. The irc channel is like the walled garden of intelligent members! While the starving masses of the stupid flop around below us, barely smart enough to breath and keep their hearts beating at the same time, we sit in our walled fortress of bliss! I don't want that tarnished. It would be an Lua script, certainly not a built in feature.
