This discussion started as a guy being angry, now it's a calm discussion on how to deal with newbies. I though it was supposed tp be the other way round!
@pilojo(View Post) We NEED a like button! (a.k.a. thecomment is awesome!)
Unfortunately, that isn't true, there are many users that are much younger than 13 years old, The no swearing rule should be universal. If it becomes more of a problem, such words will be censored.
@TheTempest(View Post) It's not the fact that mods are swearing, I'm fine with that, thought it shouldn't be the case, it's that they're rudely doing it to new members for a tiny little comment.
@pilojo(View Post) Pardon my language, but don't be a douche and start this again.
@Jackeea(View Post) Yes, like I said, swearing was apparently the last straw for Catelite, and resulting in my ban (along with some other stuff :3), but when ief here did it for such a horrible reason (I think it was mainly to spite @Jackeea, who had asked @pilojo to censor a swear), that was just unacceptable.
Look. All I'm saying is that sometimes this community is a bit too harsh to its newer members. Bitching about someone's grammar is completely unnecessary. You don't know how old the member is, or if English is even their first language. No need to troll about it. As for the whole Element Suggestions thing, some people don't even have a search bard, i.e. me. Look:
Never mind, it would appear the search bar doesn't show up unless you're logged in.
And a new member may not even know that it's there, or even know what it's for. Again, no need to troll. You can politely point out that the developers are not looking to add this element do to various reasons and/or it has been suggested and rejected before. Not "USE THE GODDAMN SEARCH BAR YOU F*CKING NOOB!!!1!!1!@!!12@#3211!!!" Try to be a little bit considerate. And as for reading the rules, I agree, there is no excuse for not using common sense and checking them, but perhaps they could be a bit more obvious, such as having a little highlighted bar at the top of the page saying "Welcome to The Powder Toy, please remember to read the rules."
"some people don't even have a search bar" Look to the right of that. Also, proper grammar shows maturity and makes someone look better (reputation wise)
