    oh, my mistake, excuse my error. I didn't know that, I have nothing to do with IRC so I don't know these things.

    If you want more people to play this game, then I suggest you stop trolling every new member who makes a post with a mistake, because then they go and tell everyone you're all being assholes, and do you really want that? You are literally going to kill yourselves off if you keep driving your members away like this. Not everyone is perfect, live with it.
    '

    here's the thing: I don't really think that TPT forums want to attract more people, non in a bad way, but in a good way: If TPT in 2009? got a lot of new people then it will start being like... well, the forums today, strict rules, lot-o-bad suggestions and groups, and people burning other not...so...smart members to the ground. So the forum members kinda don't want another surge of extra members.

    but there are 2 sides to this story...

    The Advanced members' argument
    There are some people who just don't get it. Some just ignore the rules, post whatever they want and use grammar in a very bad way. And then they go back and say that everyone is being unfair to them. And at one point you gotta snap. Today I read another forum that had yet another useless element. That just put me over the edge. It all just boils down to this no one reads the RULES

    The Latter group's argument
    well, I can't say much for the latter group... which is embarrassing... so I'm just going to quote what surfcash said

    surfcash:

    many new members have been trolled and older members are always getting mad at newer members being "annoying" when older members do the same all of the time.

    Baced on this, I'm going to say that they want the same "RIGHTS" as older members

    and with this war of rights/rules add some crackpots, hot heads and big mouths, and you have what's going on
    me thinks

    New person who doesn't use grammar most of the time, suggests stupid/unuseful things, acts like a 8 years and/or annoys everyone

    newbie =/= n00b
    n00b = new and naive
    newbie = new

    Not all new users get trolled, some are just too lazy to read the rules. And so, not knowing, get tolled off because they're breaking rules, and they don't know because they were too lazy.
    Reason enough??

    The first thing I did when I started using an account was to go and read the rules, as that I didn't get trolled! :-)

    a meaty 5% of users actually read the rules when they first entered the forums.
    I didn't :(
    but I did use common sense, which helped me untill I did read the rules (like 3-5 weeks later)
    I mean seriously, you see someone flame and get banned, it doesn't exactly make sense to do the exact same thing! But I think enough has been said.

    where is the opposing side? I NEED THE OPPOSING SIDE!!!!!!!
