Soap + Acid = ?

I'm just getting to mess around with the newest powdertoy and thought I'd test to see if soap acted as a cancel for acid. But I noticed that wasn't the case, in fact, the soap became a different colored type of acid. Anyone know why?

Hmmm... I think GLOW did that, but on a much lower scale. I find it interesting, how it lowers the life of acid in that it changes colour. By the way, I haven't seen you post in awhile. Where were you?

I've just been reading, instead of posting. Summer's are just like that for me with more time to spend elsewhere.

Ontopic: I suppose that would make sense that it affects the life of acid. Perhaps a dev could explain more in depth?

That is because soap is much weaker than acid.
On a PH scale, soap would be a bit above 7, while acid would be close to 1.

They are bases and acids. Meaning shouldn't they produce loads of smoke (not really realistic, but you get the idea) when they meet?

BASE was rejected, and it wasn't on cracker64's mind to make it a base, it was just probably a test to make bubbles.

Yes, if they were of equal strength, however , acid is far stronger than soap so soap can only neutralize a small miniscule amount of acid.

Still, it could be a great way to simulate a volcano...
