Simon overtook the project in around July, 2010, when the first commits were made to The Powder Toy repository. The game itself had existed way before in a different form.

 Simon took it up before that. These "forums" existed in a very basic form before then. I was made a moderator on 28th July 2010 (My birthday :3). I think he took it up in around March of that year. It may have been a little later.
