tpt multiplayer does not work like you think. Do either of you have someone you are going to play with? You can't just see a list of servers and join like minecraft, you need someone o play with, who will probably help you with these things. (Maybe you can try to connect to each other?)

Type the other person's ip in the connect box, followed by the number 3000, like this: /c ip.ip.ip.ip 3000

If they have port forwarder port 3000, then it should connect automatically. Is this person in the same house as you with the same ip, or over the internet?

Tell the other person to google search port forwarding, they need to allow you to connect to port 3000. I don't know how to do this right now. Then you need their ip address, which you should already have.

There are step-by-step instructions in the main post. Another very easy way is to install hamachi (free for non-commercial, just both sides need it) One of you create a network, the other joins it, you can then connect with the hamachi ip.

The steps have been said many times by jacob1 as well
