Powder Toy "Layers"

    If the second layer was electricity only, this could drastically improve the capabilities of powder toy computers. We'd just need a new element to transfer SPRK between layers, methinks

    How would we code it...?
    I think the second layer should almost remain paused, doing minimal calculations, causing less lag.

    I already suggested something like that, a decoration layer.
    Got many support but got forgotten ;_;

    Nope. Just WIFI, meh thinkz.

    hmmm a second layer devoted ONLY to electronics might work. there would indeed need to be an element that transfers a spark between the two, actually i don't even think that would be needed, just make wifi work between them.
    i might mess around with it.. there would need to be some new saving for it to save correctly.

    Supporters =D. If you guys do notice, I already noted that two new elements (one particle and one wall) would be needed to transfer the spark. It would do so by sending a spark to the other layer at the exact coordinate the particle or wall is in the other layer. Would be cool if wifi could not work between layers, then you would have a full set for each.

    Some people seem a bit confused on what the new layers would do. The electronics only, while not visible at the same time as the main layer, still does calculations. Kind of like a background task.

    The second layer is purely for decoration. No calculations, no heat, nothing.

    As far as saving goes, most saves may need to just be converted (something that can be done when the user saves it after an update). The current save will go to the middle layer.

    It is not exactly "3D". It is really 2D, but multiple layers. Kind of like photoshop.

    Connecting wires is just one use. It would also be used for more logic gates and systems.

    But yes, wifi is a good method to connect point A to point B.

    we also have walls that allow particles and conduct electricity. those could also be used in layers.
