there are some pretty cryptic parts- I'm sure it's very simple yto people who've had years of experience though. if only I could copy that experience to my mind >:)

looks like more people are against tpt rewrite. It would probably break several saves.

    oh yes

    > Wait, I do remember that TPT has been rewritten once, can someone tell me what was the reason if there is one ?
The reason was, just because. People wanted TPT source files each in their own directory, and to improve the UI, and other gimmicks.

well, I might make myself VERY Unpopular here, but.... look at Call of Duty... running on the same engine (thats not the same as programming language, I know) for so long, always just tweaking it.... I think the time has come to switch to something with better functions. Who knows, maybe you can really get better performance out of it? Or.... maybe, I am not familiar with programming that much, get something like movable solids to make "real" rockets? Well, all in all: I would love to see it and help. not that I can really help with programming.

Call of Duty can use 3D acceleration hardware in graphics cards, because it's just another 3D game with shaders and polygons and cameras and matrix transformations and lighting. TPT can't, because it's a data structure of 235008 tiny data structures all changing depending on each other and various layers of the game that aren't in the particle structure, like walls or heat or pressure or gravity.
