    Subparticles would be useful for just a few current elements indeed, but wouldn't they enable creating far more elements that use subparticles?

    Stuff like all the clones and CRAY will benefit the most out of them 'cause you could suddenly start cloning and creating near-exploded VIBR, EXOT that's in its "replacer" mode and at 5725.18 K, plus much more elaborate CRAYing for stuff like heated/coloured WIFI. The self-replicating machine could actually be a thing in TPT.

    For elements that don't use them, it's only a pointer so it will take up sizeof(int) of size when unused. The actual struct Particles will be on the heap if they're ever created. Stuff like PROP can be made to accommodate.
    Plus accessing the properties inside C++ wouldn't be much work, it'd rather be something like
    parts[i].subpart->temp or (*parts[i].subpart).temp

    That memory allocation thing sounds far more versatile, however how will one save that into actual saves, not to speak of that subparticles could extend practically infinitely down (subparticle->subparticle->subparticle->subparticle .....) if such need were to arise. I am unsure of how to save them though...

    Honestly I think there is nothing wrong with having 2 viruses we have metl and wwld already and I admit I kind of want the virus from dan-ball.

    I noticed something odd with mixing Virus with Quartz/ Powdered Quartz. When you "cure" the virus, after having it "infect" the quartz, it always seems to be just one color of quartz. The quartz, unlike when it is melted then cooled, does not exactly "remember" the color of its particles.

    virus uses .tmp2 to store what element was infected, QRTZ also uses this to store what color it is. So it gets reset and that's why that happens. There isn't any other place to store type so it will have to work like that for now.

    I always thought it was cool how VIRS didn't remove decorations. Imo, it'd have been cooler if it just continuously darkened them until they became pink XD
