Annoying No-Decoration Thumbnails

    If game creators' opinion differs with majority of users, preference is on the first one, obviously. Most of moderators and developers want to see people using their elements, not creating frescoes out of them - so deco was removed in thumbnails to encourage people on learning how elements' work.

    Also, you do compare TPT community with democratic society:

    a democratic way of save selection

    best by democratic solution

    Everyone has one vote for every save

    There were a lot more people than just moderators and staff complaining about the quality of saves on the front page, after removing decorations from thumbnails, there has been a substantial increase in quality. Removing decorations from thumbnails was just a trial but it was so successful the change has been made permanent. Decoration was never meant to be a staple part of the game, but it was slowly becoming just that.

    I know the creators don't like it, and can do whatever they want. I never said they couldn't. I am simply saying I do not agree with the whole deco hating and that although the creators are dictators they should consider their users wishes a little more.

    A democratic solution(voting) != a democratic society ->

    I was not trying to compare the tpt community with democratic society.

    edit:

    @Simon

    To me deco ís an important part of the game, sorry.

    I like that people are reverting to use actual elements to create fancy art saves. It is original and a tad harder to find the perfect colour.

    Most of time creators listen people.

    And also democratic voting is an important part of democratic society, cause people control society's future with it. Therefore asking for democratic voting is implying asking for democratic society.

    A -> B ;   C -> B;  B!=C ;

    democration -> voting; tpt -> voting;  tpt ?= democration

    A engine is an important part of a car, because it deliveres energy, Therefore asking for a engine is implying asking for a car.

    I am not implying anything. I simply asked to consider the votes on deco covered saves.

    How is this ontopic?

    I, being one of those people who realized the save quality had gone down, agree with you on most fronts, however, i disagree on the topic of Creators or users choice:

    If games had only been developed over the creators appeal then the public would generally hate it as it would only suit one "type" of person.

    However, that is completely irrelevant.

    @BuysDB
    TPT isn't an art program ( i think that was an argument made by one of the mods/devs :P) and the Deco layer greatly reduced save quality and interactivity...

    these are the things i find most interesting in a save, the effort the user put into it and how interactive the actual save is.

    Bad examples.

    You can't have a democratic society without democratic voting, it's the main part of it.

    This is ontopic in this way: TPT community isn't a democratic society, so you can't have democratic voting at everything. Sure devs and mods consider people's ideas and suggestions (many of elements prove that), but you can't say: "Uh, we were not asked if we want deco layer removal" because nobody asks you about that.

    @plead-for-destruction

    I never said games should be developed with only developer ideas, moreover, TPT devs make many people's wishes come true unlike many other game creators :-)

    Why would you think deco is important for TPT? Seriously, if you just can't accept that no deco on thumbnails is annoying, get off TPT or just deal with it.

    +1 this, i find deco as a cheap way of getting FP.

    banning art from fp is fine... but wasnt deco layer made so that our electronics can be covered up? my engines look stupid withought deco to help spiff them up :P (although the argument can be made that engines look better with their complicated-looking electronics exposed)
