I just have a quick question. If you trace the powder toy back far enough does it relate to the powder game at some point. It just seems like they both use the same code.

Skylark created Powder Toy initially due to having difficulties with running Powder Game in java while running linux. Yeah. And then stuff happened. Simon picked up the game after about a year and some months of idle time of no development, and now we're here.

Completely different code, but Powder Toy does take some inspiration from powder game and all the other falling sand games out there.

But in the latest tpt++ version, it's almost all @Simon. I do some things like bug fixes and stuff, but nothing major. @jacksonmj is trying his own c++ port so isn't working on the game at all, @cracker64 hasn't even compiled tpt++ recently, and @Triclops200 does things occasionally, but not too often.

@Catelite has also done some things, same with @savask. Neither of them have really done much tpt++ stuff though.

Of course. Since it going open-source, it's been a lot of other developers. Skylark even visits the IRC every once in a while... :P

    "would have" :D
Well, that is true but I suppose Sky would've kept the server running since the game still had a lot of players..

Yeah but the same game as if it was still looking the same has it looked in 2008-2012 the users would have left by 2009 but thanks to Simon for making a difference.
