    i agree with tothemyers, our star isn't massive enough to go supernova, also its energy of a billion suns not nukes, the sun has the energy of 10 billion+ nukes.

    Correction: The sun does not have the mass to go supernova. When it dies, it will "shed" it's outer gas layers. Before that, it will expand, engulfing Mercury and Venus, and most likely Earth.

    Actually, the Earth wouldn't be a planet anymore when the sun supernova's, as the force would be like a billion nukes all in one. The initial impact of force would blast most of the Earth into bits.
