I was inspired to try and design this after seeing DrajarB's platinum cell save. I then proceeded to design what I'm referring to as a Molecular Machine, because calling it a cellular automaton would be unfair to GOL elements. Copy with credit.

ID:2781417 I made something like your save a while back, interesting to see something like it!

I've been thinking of trying to design variants with different purposes, perhaps with terraforming in mind?

Had a cool battle with my immune cells, +1

Implant it into a landscape, it starts consuming the landscape's raw materials to produce more of its configured elements. Implant it into a human body and it basically turns them into a sort of colony / hive for the molecular machine, whilst eating the materials that compose the body.
-
The more matter it consumes, the more of its configured materials will be produced and as such, it will gradually pull more matter into its nucleus in order to feed the process. Once it runs out of raw material, it begins a sort of autophagy, essentially eating itself to try and keep going. Eventually, it becomes inert because it can't produce any more material, even with the autophagy.

@ae In essence, it's a machine that mimics the functions of a cell, but I feel like it functions more like a fungus in a way, but long story short, it draws in and converts matter into more of its configured materials. For example, it converts some of the matter into hydrogen and oxygen, a little bit of SHLD and uses a PTNM reaction to speed the SHLD growth in a manner not unlike hydrogen fuel cells.

i dont know what happening but it look cool
