@7shotsolo the Inquisition doesn't really care if the world falls into stagnation - stagnation is their goal.
-
unfortunately, you know over time they will have to loosen their restrictions a bit to encourage innovation or else the world will stagnate.

@7shotsolo The Inquisition is primarily made up of Zethyrs, an introverted race that spend a lot of time listening very closely to their Callings from Morn and Noth. Through their eyes, everything contributes to chaos in some form or another. The less chaos there is long-term, the happier their gods are.
-
It seems they limit progress. Why dont they block stuff that causes chaos only?
-
The Spanish Inquisition sucked like the Varud. And one died. Someday they will both die.

@7shotsolo Not to be mistaken with TPT void! Void in this world is something very different... All will be revealed, in due time.
-
yes thats what i meant it the chaos of discovery of VOID.
-
Also, tech by way of electricity isn't really a thing in the Lily - this is all set in a world where technology is currently slightly past medieval-tier.
-
In the same breath, the Inquisition also wants to serve their gods of order and caution by creating more order in this way - they want every passing day to be the same as the day before by way of dictatorship, 1984-style. This, however, is where the Spice of Life comes in.

@7shotsolo Not exactly. The Inquisition exists to try and postpone the inevitable imbalance in the Lily that comes with new discoveries of how the Lily works. Take the Void Reservoir: the Lily uses the reservoir to remain afloat atop the Sea of Filament, but at the same time, Void is a very powerful element that could be very easily abused and misused if given to the wrong person. The Inquisition wants to erase all possibility of this happening in the future through sabotage and subterfuge.
