But tl;dr I'm going to try and sort the spread issue out as this gun is intended more as a rifle than a shotgun, as the spread is primarily due to it using superheated DESL to produce the plasma fast, as it's more interesting to me than just outright firing plasma from the gun.
And overall weight, as well as some other things I'm probably either not aware of or a bit too tired to remember.
And of course that it has specific internal differences from that of a rifle, as well as things like barrel diameter and length, rifling and such.
I'm kind of sleepy so I'm kind of not saying stuff quite correctly, but what I mean is that shotguns and rifles are kind of similar, though this save was intended to be more of a rifle. Shotguns and rifles in real life have some specific differences, but one of the ones the former is well known for is the ammunition firing multiple pellets or lead balls.
@Sandboxvoid Indeed. Though, really, a shotgun is pretty much the same as a rifle, but aside from obvious internal design mechanisms, main difference would be how it fires. I might refine this in future so it might be able to fire with less spread, though to accomplish that, one idea I have is to design a VENT or GPMP based sort of "Choke" attachment on the end of the barrel to essentially try and give it a narrow spread.
