Somehow, brick seems to refract photons differently. can someone else confirm this?

    Yes, it does split. slight temperature differences as it forms. but it should still not... reverse

    I cooled the entire thing down to - 250 degrees and it still happens

    it happens because glass tube has different temperatures on different sides. Glass changes the way it refracts light if temperature increases/decreases
