    Laser is a light emmiter as @PortalPlayer has noted. It may be low-power, but it's still a laser.

    @sandwichlizard I've seen 1w laser diodes on ebay going for $28. and for about 50 you can get a 20w CO2 laser

    yes you can now buy diode lasers on the internet capable of a few hundered milliwatts. focused on a 1mm spot 200milliwatts can ignite a fire. or permanantly blind you litterally in the blink of an eye. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH LASERS.
