looks just like an interesting thing with floating points. The actual code just checks if the temperature is < 273.15f. (not <=). That number you gave must be exactly 273.15f, in the closest it can represent it in floating point. Just one tiny bit less and it transitions.

IRL the freezing temp of water ='s the the melting point (with no temp change). same with vapor. i could go on about how and why but meh lol.

Water can deviate from its normal temp>state changes with different pressures, you can get it lower than -10 if theres negative pressure, and keep it liquid >150 with positive pressure
