    @jman actually, he's correct. 1.5Gt would only have a blast radius of 30km because over 90% of the released energy would be reflected into space. of course, everything in the blast radius would be pulverised into individual atoms.

    @Skitz Uh, no. Not even close. If a single GRAM of matter were converted into pure energy, such as a gram of antimatter, the explosion would make an explosion able to be seen clearly from space. 70 KILOGRAMS would probably decimate a good chunk of the planet.

    Wow, did some little calculations. Turns out that if a person weighing 70 kilograms were completely converted into energy, it would create an explosion equivalent to 1,500,000 kilotons of TNT. Assuming the person was converted in New York. the immediate destruction would go out for about 30 kilometers. The thermal radiation would go out as far as New Jersey.
