Looks pretty cool! I'll upvote when I get the chance. I made summat similar for my "Ultimate Multi Laser" some time ago, wherein I used an independent portable piston mover instead. Take a look at it for ideas on how to heat the beam (use portals basically). I've recently upgraded my system so that it moves faster and will be one of the main features of the new laser, but I can't release it yet. It is in the WIP laser link if you want to check.
